Health, Safety & Environmental Policy

We operate in an environment of ever increasing Health and Safety demands and as such the pressure to keep abreast of the latest H&S legislation is immense.

The Group prides itself in being pro-active in all matters regarding Health and Safety having vast experience in CDM regulations and regularly being involved in site meetings and toolbox talks at Board level through to project managers. Outside support is also gained from professional bodies such as ECA, Hascom Network and Holistic Services in the West Midlands. Our Health and Safety Policy is as follows:
  1. In the conduct of its business it is an important duty of this Company to ensure a safe and healthy working environment for all its employees. The Company accepts that this implies the resulting duty of ensuring that the necessary organisation, equipment and training are provided to fulfil this obligation. It is generally accepted that an effective Health and Safety policy requires the full collaboration and co-operation of all employees and sub-contractors and, therefore, everybody is asked to read this document and accept their personal responsibility for Health and Safety at Work.

  2. It is the responsibility of Management and Supervision: -

    1. To promote the spirit and the letter of the principles and provisions incorporated in the relevant legislation to ensure that safe systems of work and a safe healthy working environment exist. Therefore, adequate resources will be made available to ensure the success of this policy.
    2. By consultation and joint involvement of Management and employees to enlist the active interest, participation and support of employees in promoting good standards of Health and Safety at Work.
    3. To ensure that all concerned are fully aware of their own personal responsibilities for Health and Safety at Work.

  3. It is the responsibility of every employee: -

    1. To take all responsible care for the health and safety of him/herself and of fellow employees and to report any hazard which cannot be controlled personally.
    2. To co-operate with the Company by observing safety rules and by complying with any measures designed to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.

  4. The Health and Safety of Sub-contractors supplied under contracts for service is of utmost importance and Management’s policy is summarised as: -

    1. The Company is committed to ensure the highest standards of Health and Safety so far as is reasonably practical, for all sub-contractors supplied under contracts for services.
    2. Appropriate preventative and protective measures will be carried out following consultation with customers and appropriate Health and Safety checks. It should be noted that Management’s objectives will only be achieved with the understanding and co-operation of all sub-contractors supplied under contracts for services and also our customers.

  5. The role of the Health and Safety Committee is of vital importance for maintaining a continuous and critical scrutiny of working conditions throughout the operation, reviewing the safety performance and promoting safer working.

  6. Although the ‘day-to-day’ Management has been delegated to Group Operations Director it is expected that all Management, Supervision and employees generally support and implement this policy wholeheartedly.

  7. The Health and Safety Committee will review the policy and procedures annually.
